Making Fresh Accessible
Zine Design
Making Fresh Accessible is a project aimed to help those utilizing food banks have easier access to relevant and helpful information around how to store and prepare fresh produce that they are given. I worked closely with my local Hunger and Health Coalition to meet the needs of those nearby. The information was taken from the NC State Cooperative Extension Mini Lessons and from knowledge that I have from learning to cook growing up. The zines were made to be easily reproducible for local food banks to place in resource centers and place in boxes that they seemed fit. These were displayed in the “From the Second Floor” Exhibition in the Smith Gallery at Appalachian State University.
